What happened this quarter (3 months to 30 June 2019)    

 

  • The fund’s steady performance continued in an environment of low interest rates. During the quarter, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand set the Official Cash Rate at a record low 1.5% in early May and indicated in June that it was likely to continue to maintain this course.

How the fund has performed against it's objective

The fund aims to achieve a positive yearly return (after the fund charge and before tax) that over the long term is in line with the S&P/NZX Bank Bills 90 Day Index.

What does the fund invest in?

The fund invests mainly in cash and cash equivalents. These may include investments issued by the New Zealand Government, New Zealand-registered banks, corporations and local authorities, non-New Zealand sovereign, supranationals or related agencies denominated in New Zealand dollars.
